Set My Lineup Week 3 (Segment one)

1) Pat

League Settings: Unspecified

QB: Jay Cutler

RB: Kareem Hunt, James White, Chris Carson, Derrick Henry, Ameer Abdullah

WR: Jordy Nelson, AJ Green, DeAndre Hopkins, Martavis Bryant, Geronimo Allison

TE: Charles Clay, Tyler Eifert

K: Giorgio Tavecchio

D/ST: Baltimore Ravens

IDP: Ryan Shazier

Vick’s Take: Look at how your RB depth came up over the past two weeks. I’m proud of you. This is why people need to keep handcuff players on their roster. I’ve been telling you to look to trade a WR for a TE/RB, but now you have leverage at every position except TE. Don’t get me wrong, Tyler Eifert is a very good player, but he cannot stay healthy. This week Chris Carson or Derrick Henry is a toss up, so I’ll go with the guy not running against the Seahawks defense. If Jordy Nelson is hurt, look to start Martavis Bryant. Still feel like you can get better value at the IDP position. Try picking up whoever the Giants offensive line has to block.

2) Diane

League Settings: PPR

QB: Dak Prescott, Andy Dalton

RB: LeSean McCoy, Leonard Fournette, Frank Gore, Alvin Kamara

WR: Brandin Cooks, Michael Crabtree, Terrelle Pryor, Martavis Bryant, Ted Ginn, Jermaine Kearse

TE: Jimmy Graham

K: Matt Prater

D/ST: Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams

Vick’s Take: Your team is really really good. I’d have a fun time making trade request with all the great talent you have. Look hard at your TE position, if Jimmy Graham is hobbled you should drop the Rams Defense in exchange for a streamable TE. Some targets could include: Evan Engram, Hunter Henry, or David Njoku. Also, Andy Dalton can be dropped for virtually anyone at this point. It never hurts to have depth at every position.

3) Bobby

League Settings: Unspecified

QB: Tom Brady

RB: Isaiah Crowell, Buck Allen, Darren McFadden, Danny Woodhead, Ameer Abdullah

WR: DeVante Parker, Tyrell Williams, Mike Evans, Stefon Diggs, Randall Cobb

TE: Travis Kelce

D/ST: Seattle Seahawks

Vick’s Take: Keep an eye out for the status on Randall Cobb. If he is unable to go in your flex, start Tyrell Williams instead. Also, you have two RBs with virtually no value in McFadden and Woodhead, try dropping them for someone who can actually contribute to your roster. Some sleeper RBs include Chris Ivory, Jalen Richard, and Andre Ellington.

4) J Greenberg

League Settings: Unspecified

QB: Drew Brees, Philip Rivers

RB: Dalvin Cook, Carlos Hyde, Buck Allen, Jacquizz Rodgers, David Johnson, Marlon Mack

WR: DeSean Jackson, Jamison Crowder, Tyrell Williams, Cooper Kupp

TE: Martellus Bennett

K: Justin Tucker

Vicks’s Take: I like your roster the way you set it. The only thing worth considering is how much faith you have in the LA Chargers. Despite being 0-2 and this week playing the KC defense, the Chargers offense has been fairly reliable. If Drew Brees and Jamison Crowder worry you, I would not be opposed to starting Philip Rivers and Tyrell Williams. Try dropping Marlon Mack for some WR depth. You are so stacked at the RB position it is not realistic you would ever start Mack behind that shaky Colts offensive line.

5) M Hanfield

League Settings: PPR, 16 team league

QB: Tom Brady

RB: Kerwynn Williams, Melvin Gordon, Jamaal Charles, Jeremy Hill, Alex Collins

WR: Stefon Diggs, Terrelle Pryor, Jeremy Maclin, Devin Funchess, Geronimo Allison, Rishard Matthews, Eli Rodgers

TE: Greg Olsen (Drop)

K: Brandon McManus

D/ST: Dallas Cowboys

Vick’s Take: Love the 16 team league format. It makes your team look a little thin, but I’m sure every other team is stretched out as well. You only have two starting RBs so keep them both active. The WR slot is a little tricky because Pryor has been a bust and Diggs had a major letdown after a solid opening week performance. Nonetheless, those two are your best options this week unless a Packer misses the game and you can start Geronimo Allison instead. As far as picking up a TE off of waivers, try going for Zach Miller, Ed Dickson, or Ben Watson. Even if Greg Olsen returns this season it is left to be seen how effective he will be.

6) Cory

League Settings: Unspecified, WR/RB/3FLEX

QB: Marcus Mariota, Trevor Siemian

RB: Dalvin Cook, Carlos Hyde, Mark Ingram, Buck Allen, Chris Carson

WR: Doug Baldwin, Demaryius Thomas, DeVante Parker, Pierre Garcon, Michael Thomas

TE: Hunter Henry

K: Giogrio Tavecchio

D/ST: Baltimore Ravens

Vick’s Take: Your team is so good. Leave your lineup as-is. But be careful because the Bills defense is nothing to laugh at, so it won’t exactly be easy sledding versus the stingy Bills defense. Nonetheless, you are forced to bench Marcus Mariota since he is playing Seattle.

7) Sandra

League Settings: PPR WR/TE

QB: Cam Newton, Tyrod Taylor

RB: Ameer Abdullah, Buck Allen, CJ Anderson, Isaiah Crowell

WR: Odell Beckham Jr., Randall Cobb, Stefon Diggs, TY Hilton, Willie Snead

TE: Hunter Henry

K: Brandon McManus, Nick Folk

D/ST: Dallas Cowboys, Carolina Panthers

Vick’s Take: Cam Newton is a must start this week versus a terrible defense. This will be the week where Isaiah Crowell does something. If Crowell doesn’t prove himself against the lowly Colts, then start Buck Allen for the rest of the season. You can still drop Nick Folk for a backup RB or TE.

8) Jeff

League Settings: .5 PPR

QB: Russell Wilson

RB: David Johnson, Derrick Henry, Jordan Howard, Joe Mixon, Tevin Coleman, Jacquizz Rodgers

WR: Doug Baldwin, Stefon Diggs, Larry Fitzgerald, DeSean Jackson, Rashard Higgins, Marvin Jones, Willie Snead

TE: Travis Kelce

D/ST: Los Angeles Rams

Vick’s Take: Despite losing David Johnson for an extended period of time, your team looks very solid. Trading Adam Theilen for Joe Mixon was a savvy, especially since you already have Stefon Diggs. Pick up a second QB, because if Russell Wilson keeps getting hit at this pace he won’t play a full season. If Jordan Howard plays he must be started. Keep an eye on Derrick Henry, it is just a matter of time until he is the certified workhorse on that Titans offense. I like the idea of starting ‘Quizz Rodgers while he still holds value for the next two weeks. Starting Rashard Higgins in the flex is my most ambitious call of the week, make me proud.

9) Ray Jay

League Settings: PPR

QB: Tom Brady

RB: Jacquizz Rodgers, Leonard Fournette, Bilal Powell, Chris Thompson

WR: Davante Adams, Devin Funchess, Tyreek Hill, Nelson Agholor, Geronimo Allison, Marqise Lee

TE: Travis Kelce

K: Giorgio Tavecchio

D/ST: Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks

Vick’s Take: You are going to need RB depth in two weeks. When Doug Martin comes back for the Buccaneers, Jacquizz Rodgers will be almost unstartable. Chris Thompson will become your RB2 by default, it is definitely a position to look at. I understand the Devin Funchess start this week, the only other player I would put over him would be Geronimo Allison if Jordy Nelson or Randall Cobb miss time. Dolphins defense would be a joke to start normally, but against the Jets you could start a college football team.

10) Alexander

League Settings: Unspecified

QB: Tom Brady

RB: Jordan Howard, Christian McCaffrey, Bilal Powell, Jonathan Stewart, Buck Allen, Chris Johnson

WR: Jordy Nelson, Keenan Allen, Adam Thielen, Jamison Crowder, Rishard Matthews

TE: Delanie Walker

K: Justin Tucker

D/ST: Baltimore Ravens

Vick’s Take: Keep an eye on the health status of Jordy Nelson. If Nelson is a no-go I actually like Jamison Crowder more than Adam Thielen since the health of Sam Bradford is in question. Don’t be afraid to start Jonathan Stewart and Christian McCaffrey, they are playing against the worst defense in the NFL. Buck Allen is also a viable option for the rest of the season, but playing in London against a feisty Jags defense is something to avoid since you have other options.

11) Jackson

League Settings: PPR

QB: Aaron Rodgers

RB: C.J. Anderson, James White, Chris Carson

WR: T.Y. Hilton, Davante Adams, Marqise Lee, Jermaine Kearse

TE: Zach Ertz, Eric Ebron

K: Matt Prater, Will Lutz

D: Seattle Seahawks

Mike’s Take: I like the idea of sticking with the hot hand right now, so i would give the start to Jermaine Kearse as your WR2. He is currently the #5 ranked WR in PPR formats. T.Y. Hilton really can’t be trusted until Andrew Luck is back. Would also look to drop one of your kickers to add depth elsewhere in your lineup.

12) Mike

League Settings: PPR

QB: Drew Brees

RB: Devonta Freeman, Kareem Hunt, Christian McCaffrey, Doug Martin, Derrick Henry, Javorius Allen

WR: Jordy Nelson, DeVante Parker, Pierre Garcon, Cooper Kupp, Willie Snead

TE: Travis Kelce

K: Will Lutz

D: Los Angeles Rams

Mike’s Take: Love your running backs, talk about stacked! At WR, you may need to start Garcon over Nelson this week since Nelson is questionable to play and you don’t have any backup options with Garcon and Kupp playing tonight. Overall though, your roster is very solid. Consider trading one of your backs for a good WR to balance out your area of strength.
